A classic -contemporary kitchen with a twist

The kitchen-living space in this Stanley Point home has generous proportions and an impressive high stud that creates atmosphere. The clients wanted a classic kitchen that paid homage to the era of their home, but with a more modern vibe, and even a hint of New York loft.

Designer, Wayne Church, started with timeless shaker front panelling, but then added in café-style open steel and glass shelving  lit with LED.
Finishing the look is the modern silhouette of the island in Calacatta quartz with waterfall ends, stainless steel benchtops around the walls, and dark grey polyurethane.

On paper, the end result is not a ‘traditional’ kitchen at all, and yet it fits beautifully into the space and décor.
