Hi,
You're receiving this email because {name} thinks the Parnell Heritage Site: Old Meets New would interest you.
Built in the mid-1800s, this lovely Parnell villa is a listed heritage property. A
fter decades of relative neglect, new owners planned to undertake an extensive renovation of the entire property, which entailed substantial negotiation, and oversight by the relevant authorities. Part of the planned renovation was a totally new open-plan space incorporating the kitchen, dining and family room.
While this new extension is visually sympathetic in form to the rest of the dwelling, and retains legacy features (like the old fireplace) the kitchen is unashamedly contemporary in form and finish. In consultation with the owners, our designer has created a kitchen that sits around a large central island incorporating one of two ovens, dishwasher, sink units, cupboards and powertower. This is undoubtedly the business end of the kitchen, but the benchtop is big enough for family and friends to gather as well.
Negative detail handles, push-open cupboard doors, and cabinets that flush to the ceiling keep the kitchen clean and understated to let the main features in this space shine.
