Striking stone benchtops and bold colour choices make this villa kitchen renovation a real stand out.

When the owners of this classic Devonport villa decided to renovate, they had a vision to create an interior that would sit comfortably with the villa style but reflected a stronger, more contemporary aesthetic. Eschewing “safer”colours and materials, the owners have opted for a mix of dark-stained timber, deep grey panels and stone benchtops to create striking yet harmonious living spaces.

Wayne Church of Neo Design, who designed the kitchen, said the final result vindicates the client’s vision. “The honed titanium granite benchtops by Italian Stone, Resene Foundry polyurethane paint finish, and accent panels in American oak veneer with blackwash stain, work incredibly well together.”

An interesting design feature is the use of shaker-style drawer and door panels paired with a modern negative handle detail. Neo Design also manufactured and installed the kitchen, laundry and bathroom cabinetry. In keeping with their high construction and finish standards, they have used quality Blum Legrabox drawer and hinge hardware, sink mixer by Ikon, and Hafele Blanco sink.
