Sense of Space in Compact Kitchen

When available kitchen space is at a premium, competent designers reach in to their bag of tricks and pull out kitchens that feel bigger, brighter and lighter than they have any right to.

In this West Coast home our designer has created a kitchen that is not limited by its compact dimensions. Light, reflective finishes on cabinetry, walls, splashbacks, ceilings and benches give a sense of size.  This lightness is further enhanced by the concealed lighting behind the glass splashback.

Simple geometric forms, uncluttered by detail also add to the sense of space and spaciousness by reducing the feeling of "busyness" evident in some kitchens.
